Change project owner

Learn how to change the project owner.

Permissions: Project roles determine which users can view and access project data. Only certain users can manage these roles. If you need access to features you do not have permission for, email the RMP Admin user group at [email protected].

Project owners have mostly full rights within their projects, with the exception of some user roles and RMP administrator-specific tasks. Changing the owner transfers access and editing privileges from the current owner to the new owner. There can only be one project owner per project.

  1. From your project, click Overview on the top navigation bar.

  2. Click Roles.

  3. Next to Project owner, click the edit icon.

  4. Use the dropdown menu to find the user you want to make the new project owner

  5. Click Next

  6. Review your changes, and if you are satisfied, click Change owner.

When you create a project, you are automatically the project owner.

Your project role affects the type of notifications you will receive. For more information on notifications, see Notifications overview.
