RMP Sandbox overview

A high-level overview of the RMP Sandbox, including its purpose and when to use it.

Terminology

  • RMP is the production environment.

  • RMP Sandbox is a standalone environment from the RMP (production environment). Sandbox projects are projects you run inside the RMP Sandbox and can be any RMP project type.

The RMP Sandbox allows you to test experimental projects to analyse how differing inputs and configurations can alter the outputs in different project types. The RMP Sandbox is considered an 'unofficial' platform. It provides flexibility to produce outputs without being directly linked or used within a Bush Fire Risk Management Plan. For example, you can alter the start time of an ignition outside the restricted scope of the RMP to understand the influence on the associated fire behaviour and risk to assets. You can also use the RMP Sandbox to clarify methodologies before they are formalised and moved into training packages and the RMP. No data is pushed from RMP Sandbox to RMP.

Using RMP Sandbox, you can:

  • Use all the same features and functionality as RMP

  • Experiment with additional flexibility when modifying inputs and configuration

You can identify the RMP Sandbox by its orange branding.
